However lovable your little pooch may seem to be when it is with you, it may act differently in public areas. Get a dog muzzle for the safety of the public when you bring out your pet for dinner at a restaurant or to the pet clinic.
Usually you are required to apply a dog muzzle on your pet if you own a Pit-bull or Rottweiler because they can be very aggressive around strangers. The aggression of your mutt cannot be pretested because animals behave differently depending on the environment.
There are many types of this device sold at the pet store. Police training stifles are the safest but the most expensive. This little gag can be used if your pooch loves fighting with other strange mutts. However since the device is usually used for professional police training, it can burn a huge hole in your wallet for casual utilization.
The next best thing is the wire device. It has large gaps in between and your pet can even drink while wearing it. These can also be customized according to the size of the pooch so that it would feel more comfortable. The device has a neck strap instead of ear wires which can be constricting to the pooch's movement and a little irritating too.
However if your pooch is small and may not fit into the neck strap, then a basket wire device would be best. This unit is the most inexpensive amongst the others variations. The straps are made of plastic which is either clear or white. Some straps are also made cloth which is far more at ease than the other options. The pooch is not able to bite people with the fabric in between but they may be able to pinch.
