The first year that you own a puppy can be very expensive. Puppies need lots of products and preventative care to live a good life. Some of these products include dog houses, blankets, collars, shampoos, special food and nail clippers.
Maybe you will need to install a new fence in your yard so he wont get out and might have to hire a trainer to teach him how to behave. If you want to get a purebred puppy keep in mind that these dog's can be very expensive. So the question you need to ask yourself is "am i ready to spend all this money on a dog?". Do you have the resources? Are you starting a new business or planing to buy a new home? If you are, then you might want to wait sometime before you buy that pet.
Another thing to be aware of is the responsibility that comes with owning a pet. Buying a dog is like adopting a child, once you get him you are responsible for him. You need to feed him, give him a roof over his head and you need to take him to the vet when he gets sick.
A small dog need to be taught how to behave, they need to be socialized so they don't bite people when you take them out for a walk. Puppies also need to have good exercise mentally and physically to be healthy. Many dogs can't do this by themselves, they need someone to play with them and spend time with them.
